10 September 2007 - 2008 Schedule
Hard to believe and everyone is still in shock, but we have our 2008 Madera
Speedway schedule. We will be running 6 "Super Saturday" shows with the 410
Supers and will have 3 additional stand-alone dates at what we are hoping will
be the new beginning of "Oswego West" - Madera Speedway!

The schedule looks great, but there has also been some talk about racing at
other places when we have open dates. First, and most important, we need to
get a few more cars out there and second, what does everyone think about
taking a trip? Are we going to have the teams willing to travel? Give it some
serious thought.
There is interest in assembling a list of 360 cars and parts for sale. If there is
enough participation, we can set up a special contact page to try and get buyers
and sellers together. Email addresses, telephone numbers, and part
descriptions.
There will be a 360 meeting scheduled in the near future to discuss 2007 and
our direction for 2008 and beyond. Everyone participating in the Harvest
Classic will surely hear about it from the 06 team or the 29 team. If you are
not running the Harvest, please make sure your contact information is up to
date - send me an email or call Mr. Tuey (he still doesn't turn on the computer).
Remember if you need parts, one of us probably has it - so put the word out!

09 November 2007 - General Meeting on 11/15/2007
For anyone that hasn't heard, there will be a general meeting for anyone
interested in growth of the 360 Supermodified class. We will be discussing the
upcoming season at Madera Speedway as well as how to increase our presence
at the track (you know - car count). Everyone interested is invited to attend.
The meeting will be at the World Sports Café at Riverpark in Fresno (map link)
Meeting will be on November 15th at 7:00pm. Drinks are available for purchase.
It is important that everyone with an interest attend, as we need to keep our
momentum and continue to grow the class. We will be developing a listing of

29 November 2007 - 11/15 General Meeting Recap
For anyone that missed the 11/15 General Meeting, here is a brief recap:
1. Roll call was taken and a new roster/telephone list is in construction. Please
email Lance with your information to be included on the list.
2. Review of the 2007 season and items that could be improved upon. Tech
inspections and consistency ranked highest on the list. Ken Coventry was
willing to assist Madera in developing a better inspection program and we are
moving forward.
3. The 2008 season and running with the 410's: The consensus is that in order
for the 360's and 410's to survive, the Super Saturday shows are a necessity for
2008, and can in fact be a great opportunity for the 360's to earn some fans as
the perpetual underdog :). Once car counts go up there will certainly be other
options available, but we need to support the combination shows in order to get
healthy again. Everyone agreed we need to have more cars on the track, and
that is our common goal for 2008.
4. 360 Point Structure and Purse: The 360 championship points structure will be
similar to 2007 with the 360's being scored independently of the 410's in the
Super Saturday shows. There will be an independent points fund for the top
three 360 teams. The 360's will also be scored within the 410 ranks for the
overall Supermodified championship points fund. 360's will be paid by the
published Madera Speedway Super Saturday purse on those shows. Purse for
the three stand-alone shows has not been finalized, but will be at least what
was in place for 2007.
5. 2008 Rule Adjustments: The majority of those present agreed that the rules
as edited in 2007 are adequate for 2008 with the exception of developing an
enforceability clause for the shock absorber price cap. It was agreed that a
claim process should be added as a deterrent to spending over $300.00 per
corner. The claim process is in development and will be available soon. There
was additional discussion about adjusting the 2-tire rule, but it was agreed that
the rule should not be altered for 2008. Tire compounds and availability will be
published once the information is received.
6. The group determined it would be to everyone's advantage to have a
website dedicated to the 360 teams... well, here it is.
7. The group chose David Tuey (tuey06@sm360racing.com) as the main
spokesperson and Lance Jackson (jackson18@sm360racing.com) as backup.

22 February 2008 - Car Owners' Meeting on 02/27/2008
There is a car owners' meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 27, 2008.
The meeting will be held at the World Sports Cafe (map link), and will begin at
7:00pm.
The tentative agenda is currently available for review. If there is anything that

02 March 2008 - 02/27 Meeting Recap
For anyone that missed the 02/27 meeting, here is a brief recap:
1. Roll call was taken and the roster/telephone list remains under construction.
We have a current listing available for interested parties. Please email Lance
for your copy.
2. The newly developed website was reviewed and everyone encouraged to
take advantage of the "Classified" and "Roster" pages. The site has had over
27,000 hits since January 01, 2008.
3. The shock rule and claim proposal issue was resolved. The unanimous
decision is that the existing protest formula will be adequate for enforcement of
the shock rule.
4. Tire compounds for 2008 were determined and are posted on the Rules
page. Tires are available from Western Speed as well as the SMRA dealer (Jim
Birges). There is a points fund established for teams purchasing tires through
the SMRA dealer along with additional contingencies from Eibach, Peterson, and
ARS. Additional details on the contingency awards as well as other contingency
sponsors will be posted as available. Ten Dollars ($10) from each tire sold by
SMRA / Jim Birges to a 360 Supermodified will be contributed to the points
fund. At conclusion of the 2008 season the points fund will be distributed as
follows:
1st Place - 35%
2nd Place - 27.5%
3rd Place - 17.5%
4th Place - 12.5%
5th Place - 7.5%
5. Concerns over the increasing price of methanol has led to research into the
possibility of bulk buying discounts and other opportunities to reduce the costs.
Please contact Kevin Hays and/or Larry Hinz for additional details.
