06 March 2009 - Tires and Rules Changes
Recently announced on the Madera Speedway website, and confirmed with Madera management, all tires for 2009 will be purchased at the track. Specific days and hours of business, as well as location will be made available on the Madera website shortly.
There are no rule changes from 2008 at this time. We have had discussion regarding decreasing our minimum weight, but a unanimous decision was required in order to change the rule and was not met.

Per Madera Speedway management, here is current tire information:
Tire orders are due in to the track (via phone, fax, or e-mail) by 4:00pm on Wednesday for pick-up on that Friday. Tires do NOT have to be ordered on the week of the race (you can order early). Please include tire size, preferred compound, and preferred chalk measurement with your order.
Tires may be picked up on the Fridays, Tuesdays, and race days. Other pick-up options may be available - contact Pat Patnaude with questions.
Currently the track is accepting payment via cash or check only in order to keep costs down. Payment is due when tires are picked up.
As the track gets information regarding the most common tires used, they will increase inventory available at the track. However, to get going it is imperative you get your order placed in a timely fashion, as tires will be delivered directly from Hoosier.
We should have confirmation on the ordering process, payment process, and pick-up process for tires in the next day or two. Madera management is discussing the situation and should be in contact shortly. If you have an opinion, please contact Pat or Kenny at Madera Speedway (see www.racemadera.com for contact information).

There will be an Owner's meeting on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at 7:00pm at the Slider Motorsports (Willie Northamer) shop. The address is 850 S. Temperance, Fresno, CA. (click here for map) Topics of discussion will be rules adjustments or clarifications and the 2010 schedule.
To be included in our mailing list, please send your email address and car affiliation to Lance Jackson.
Per Madera Speedway management, the 2010 rules package is currently under review and will be out soon. There are no major changes anticipated, however, there will be additional clarifications made to the existing package in order to avoid some of the confusion from 2009. The rules will be published on the Madera Speedway website (www.racemadera.com) once completed. Also, to ensure the proper rules package is in place, the SM360 website will no longer have PDF or Word files of the rulebook, but will simply link to Madera Speedway.

As a result of the meeting on 12/16/2009, the following adjustments will be put in place for the 2010 racing season:
There will be 3 officials tasked with technical inspection and rule enforcement courtesy of Madera Speedway. There will be a pre-season meeting with the officials to go over any issues or questions in the rules package. Meeting date is to be determined.
The 2 tire rule is to be clarified as follows: A car will be allowed 4 new tires at its first race of the season. After the car’s first race, a maximum of two new tires per race day only. Tires are to be marked by inspectors immediately before qualifying and will be considered ‘marked’ after that time. A car may replace any of its tires during race day with a previously marked tire without penalty. If a marked tire is replaced with a new tire for ANY reason at any time after qualifying, the car shall be started at the rear of each remaining event for that race day.
There will not be a change to the ASCS intake gasket rule at this time. However, this issue will be revisited when more data is available at a later date.
The Madera Speedway Schedule should be out very soon. Please check the track website for details
Thanks to everyone for participating in the meeting.
